Wannell Andrews Mathews, age 68, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away September 12th at the Hospice House after and extended illness. She was a native of Alma but had lived in Jacksonville for many years. Wannell was daughter of the late Henry G. Andrews and Myrtice L. Mitchell Andrews and preceded in death by a son, Chuckie Mathews, a sister, Wanda Gail Andrews and three brothers, Robert, Johnny and Roger Andrews.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Charles L. Mathews ,III of Jacksonville, FL., son, Charles R. Mathews of Alma, two daughters, Lanie Andrews and Christina Knowles (Robert), one brother Edward Andrews (Sandra) and five sisters, Linda Collins, Christine Savage, Annette Godwin (Barry) and Angela Hom all of Jacksonville, FL.; also 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 18th at 2:00 PM at Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Jerry Mathews, Roscoe Stephens, Stacey Medders, Garland Mathews, Tim Driggers and Rodnes Driggers.
