Wendell Rewis, age 69, of Alma died Wednesday November 22 ^nd , 2017 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness.  He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late Doris Rewis and Thetus Williams Rewis and was also preceded in death by a brother Carthell Rewis, a sister Nelda Faye Cothern and a grandson Mathew Rewis. Wendell worked many years with the Atkinson County Board of Education as assistant Transportation Director and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Alma.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years Kathy Ann Courson Rewis of Alma, two sons Dewayne Rewis (Michele) of Alma, Carroll Rewis (Vickie) of Alma, two step-daughters Heather Hobbs (Curt), Wendi Batten (Timmy) all of Douglas, two sisters Audrey Faye Spell (Albert) of Alma, Wilma Faye Dyal (Quitman) of Alma, four grandchildren Kayla, Kyle, Klent and Marla, three great-grandchildren Briggs, Lauren, Elizabeth, three step grandchildren Brooklyn Faith, C. J. and Janie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 o'clock at the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Eason and Rev. Rodney Courson, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening between 6 and 9 P M.

Active pallbearers will be Kyle Rewis, Klent Rewis, Danny Spell, Sidney Spell, Mark McCarty and Bruce Vinning.  All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
