Wendy C. Lewis, age 56, of Alma died Tuesday September 27th, 2016 at Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville, FL after an extended illness. She was a native Anchorage, AK but had lived most of her life in Bacon County. She was daughter of the late Pinke Laverne Carter and was also preceded in death by a sister Teresa Lynn Carter, a brother Terry Glenn Carter and father-in-law Tommy Lewis. Wendy was a member of Wesley Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years Ledley Orvil Lewis of Alma, her father and stepmother, Burtis Carter and Eunice B. Carter, mother-in-law Wilda Rea Taylor Lewis of Alma, three step brothers Wade and Brad Tenney both of Alma, Sean Tenny of Portland, Oregon, three step-sisters Rena Taylor of Valdosta, Lisa Ogle of Douglas, Cindy Tenney of Alma, several cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 o'clock at Wesley Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Turner, Rev. Tommy Rigdon and Rev. T F Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church Sunday at 1:00 P M to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening between 6 and 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Lewis, Daniel Arrington, Brad Tenney, Greg Turner, Jerry Bullard and Phillip Carter. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary pallbearers.
