Obituary

Mrs. Wilda Rea Taylor Lewis, passed away December 18, 2023 at her residence after a short illness. She was born November 25, 1938, in Bacon County to the late Ledley Taylor and Ruby Dubberly Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tommie R. Lewis, grandson, Jason Lewis, brothers, James Elmer Taylor, Idus Taylor and sisters, Elsie Martin, Evelyn Wilson, Jeraldine Taylor and Ruby Nell Pickren.

Mrs. Lewis was a life a lifelong member of Wolf Pit Congregational Methodist Church and was Owner and Operator of Lewis Nursery for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Edwin Lewis (Gina), Orvil Lewis (Jan) and Larry Lewis (Paula) all of Alma; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Sally Jane.

Funeral services will be held Friday (December 22, 2023) at 11:00 AM at Wolf Pit Church with Rev. T. F. Yawn, Rev. Tommy Rigdon and Rev. Danny Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday morning from 10:00 AM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be Bud Deen, Charles Deen, Eddie Taylor, Glenn Martin, Dale Lewis and Ridge Lewis. Wolf Pit Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
