Willie Barber, age 86, of Nicholls passed away suddenly November 29th on his farm. He was a native of Bacon County but had lived in Ware County since 1969. Willie was son of the late Charles Grady Barber and Earnie Byrd Barber and preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Newman Barber, son, Willie David Barber, brother, John Barber and four sisters, Louise Smith,Shelvia Smart,Elva Barber and Ruby Daughtry. Willie worked many years with the Bacon County Stock Yard, a School Bus Driver for 10 years, was a member of the Carpenters Union #865 for 20 years and a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Billy Barber (Glenda) of Nicholls, daughter, Tammy Martin (Rickey), brother, Earnest Barber (Frankie), sister Shellie Tanner (Richard) of Alma; also 10 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2nd at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. David Barber and Rev. Edmund Thrift officiating and eulogy given by Kyle Mercer. Interment will follow in Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Kyle Mercer, John Paul Boyd, Cam Hayes, Dustin Hayes, Justin Barber, Brett Morgan and B.J. Barber. Honorary pallbearers will be; Dr. Glen Moore, Dr. George Wheeler, Bacon County Board of Education Bus Drivers, Julie Johnson, Jeffery Carter, Charles Waters, Kevin & Michelle Thomas, Jimmy & Lisa Youngblood, Claude & Gail Davis, Danny & Will Anderson, Donnie & Karen Eason, Travis, Tony & Dale Carter, Kenneth Wade, Bruce Benton, Dale Morris, Ruby, Foster & Edward White, Virgil Wade, Frank Lee, Charles Peacock, Elliott Kennedy, Fred Kopp, Rev. Lowell Lee, Daniel Music and Jeffery Mullis.
