William Luther Gilbert, Jr., 80, of Alma passed away January 28, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center after an extended illness. Born in Homerville, Georgia on May 26, 1941 to William Luther Gilbert, Sr. and Martha Register Gilbert. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Robert Lee Gilbert and great-grandchild, Raylee Metts.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Barbara Ann Morgan Gilbert of Alma; son, Ronnie James Gilbert (Lori) of Ridgeland, SC.; three daughters, Jennifer Gilbert (Trae Clack) of Eastman, GA., Ann Plyler (Tommy) of Mooresville, NC. and Lisa Shrewsbury (Melvin) of Troutman, NC.; one step son, B . G. Pittman (Rachel) of Homerville; three sisters, Christine Pittman, Helen Stalvey (Chester) and Doris Corbitt (Leonard) of Homerville, GA.; 12 grandchildren, Hannah, Macie, Caroline, Laney, Cheyenne, Daniel, Kristin, Julia, Cody, Martin, Ray and Jasmine; also several great-grandchildren and close friend Jose and family.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
