William Sidney Whitley, Sr., age 56, of Nicholls passed away suddenly January 14, 2024 at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Jimmy Sidney Whitley and Wanda Strickland Whitley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Laydon Smith and two sisters, Donna Whitley and Cindy Whitley.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carla Michelle Moore Whitley; three children, William Sidney Whitley, Jr. (Amber), Ariel Dixon (James) and Shiann Gibson (Daniel); brother, Clint Whitley (Cammie) and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Henderson and Pastor Mark Griner officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitley Family Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Daniel Gibson, Matt Whitley, Chandler Whitley, Chantz Whitley, Noah Starling and Whitley Whitley. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
