Willie Lee Ellis, age 91, of Nicholls passed away at the Bacon County Hospital on December 16, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born on March 13, 1927 in Bacon County to the late Alvin Ellis and Minnie Mae Hayes Ellis. His wife of 69 years, Eliza Ell Taylor Ellis preceded him in death.  Mr. Ellis retired from the Department of Transportation, served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of New Vision Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include his two children, Kenny Ellis and Joan Ellis both of Nicholls, Georgia, one brother, Vernie "Bud" Alvin Ellis (Elma), a sister, Aline Rigdon both of Alma, two grandchildren, Brian Mitchell Ellis and Pearlie Ellis and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Ellis, Haeley Ellis Kelly and Will Kelly of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19 ^th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Ellis, Pastor Shirley Beverly, Rev. Walter Mingledorff and Rev. Lang Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday, December 18 ^th from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Gary Ellis, Ronnie Ellis, Tommy Rigdon, Brian and Hunter Ellis and Jimmy Lee . All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
