Willie Mae Hyers, age 88, of Alma passed away peacefully at her residence Friday, July 12, 2019 after a short illness. She was the daughter of Will Henry Williams and Helen Dyal Williams, born on October 4, 1930 in Bacon County. She was preceded in death by her husband J Hugh Hyers, son Gene Hyers, two brothers, Jr. Williams and Troy Williams and two sisters, Zona Chaplin and Vester Hilton.

Mrs. Hyers was Owner and Operator of Alma Upholstery for 65 years; she was a member of Southside Church of God but had been attending Old Pine Grove Methodist Church.

Survivors include her three children Jerry Hyers (Debra), Bill Hyers (Susan) and Connie Walton (Sammy) of Alma, daughter-in-law, Vicki Hyers Barber (Gene) of Kingsland, GA., nine grandchildren Hannah Dyal (Alan), Jenna Hutto (Nikolaos), Abby Johnson (Devin), Ashlee Vickers, Chad Lee (Julie), Shelley Bentley (Jimmy), Chip Hyers (Linda), Trish Nipper (Ken) and Lauren Lee and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Southside Church of God with Pastor Randy Cox and Pastor David Deen officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Chip Hyers, Chad E. Lee, Devin Johnson, Nikolaos Hutto, Alan Dyal and Jimmy Bentley.

Honorary pallbearers will be; a special nephew Jimmy Lynch, Stephanie Trowell, Martha Boatright, DeWayne Wade Clark, Bruce Cothern, and Georgia Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Old Pine Grove Methodist Church, Southside Church of God, or Georgia Hospice.
